Dr. Vickrey oversees and manages all analyst-driven content
at Gradient Analytics and was the primary creator of Earnings
Quality Analytics. He is widely known for his research on earnings
quality, market inefficiencies, and corporate insider-trading behavior.
He has published articles in academic and practitioner journals,
such as the Financial Analysis Journal, the Journal of Accounting,
Auditing & Finance, the Journal of Financial Statement Analysis, and Abacus.
He is regularly asked to provide expert commentary about financial
issues in the financial media. Since 1996, Dr. Vickrey has directed
the development of a variety of quantitative models and portfolio-evaluation
systems for Gradient's institutional clients. Dr. Vickrey is a former tenured
professor at the University of San Diego, where he taught financial accounting,
auditing, and financial-statement analysis. He also owns minority interests in
several private firms spanning a wide array of industries. Dr. Vickrey earned a
Ph.D. in accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1993, a master's degree in
accounting from the University of Tulsa in 1989, and an undergraduate degree in
accounting from the University of Tulsa in 1986.
